WordPress updates
Keeping your WordPress site up-to-date is crucial for the security and health of your website – if you let WordPress updates slip, your site could be hacked.

All our WordPress maintenance plans include monthly or weekly WordPress updates to your install.
We use software to monitor all the WordPress sites we look after, so we’re notified as-and-when improved themes and plugins become available for your site.
If you host your site with Toast, it will be backed-up prior to any updates and thoroughly checked post-update to make sure everything is working correctly.
The WordPress update process
- We backup your site*
- We run the updates via your site admin
- We check all the site content to ensure everything is working
- We then run a post-update backup to ensure we’ve pre- and post-update backups
Removing the hassle of updating WordPress
Let’s be honest. Updating WordPress is a pretty straightforward process – that big blue Update button in the admin of your site just needs a click and you’re done. Easier said that done as the stats show.
W3Techs reporting shows that whilst 90+ percent of WordPress installs are using WordPress 4, only 28 percent are actually running the most recent, safest version.
Having your WordPress updates looked after is one of the main reasons to have professional WordPress support.
It removes the need for you to remember to do it, and it also means that if the update fails for any reason, you’re covered.
*For sites that are not hosted with Toast, we’ll make sure there are other backup options in place.
